Jim and LuAnn have been married since 2002 and have each served the local church in various roles for more than 20 years. They have ministered as church planters and have traveled extensively to train, equip, and mentor leaders in the global church. Jim has served both as an associate pastor and a lead pastor. LuAnn is a lifelong educator who has used her teaching gifts in various contexts, including private and public school settings. Their daughter, Maddie, is also serving on mission with them and preparing for undergraduate studies in the local university. The current work in Spain is their first assignment as long-term international workers.
Our three primary responsibilities include:
Pastoring English speakers in an international church.
Working with a team to build healthy prayer environments across Spain and Europe.
Mentoring the next generation of leaders in a vibrant and fruitful church planting network.
Family on Mission
LuAnn serves the local church community through teaching, hospitality, mentoring and relational ministry.
Currently, LuAnn is working as a teacher at Madres de Día. “Mothers by Day” is a church outreach to assist families in the community and the church with young children. It serves as a social alternative to traditional day care centers with personalized attention that is adapted to the educational, emotional and spiritual needs of children.
LuAnn is also actively learning to speak Spanish through online lessons and local conversational classes.
Jim preaches, teaches, and leads small groups in the local church.
His optimal responsibilities are in training, equipping, and mentoring current and emerging leaders in revival prayer. Currently, he is also developing an outdoor ministry that will provide rest, renewal, and adventure to both the church and community.
Jim spends his remaining time as a student of Spanish food and culture.
Maddie is currently attending discipleship classes at the Bethany School. “Betania” seeks to form young people for a life devoted to God and mission. Betania offers a number of classes and opportunities to serve and be a part of the church community. She is also a volunteer at Madres de Día daycare .
When she is not involved with ministry, she is taking intensive Spanish courses at a language learning school in Alicante. After she completes her studies at the language school she plans to join the University of Alicante to study nursing.
